Can I get Stripe in a country where it is not available? +
Yes. By forming a US LLC, you establish a US business entity. Stripe is available to US-registered businesses regardless of where the owner is located. IOPay Global forms the LLC, creates the Stripe account under it, and connects it to your Shopify store.
Does this work for Indian Shopify merchants? +
Yes. Stripe went invite-only in India in May 2024. Indian merchants cannot sign up directly. Through a Wyoming LLC formed by IOPay Global, Indian merchants get a fully active Stripe account connected to their Shopify store — without needing an invitation.
Do I need to travel to the US to set this up? +
No. The entire process is done remotely. Wyoming LLC formation, EIN application, bank account opening, and Stripe setup are all completed online. You never need to leave your country.
Is forming a US LLC legal for non-US residents? +
Yes. US federal law places no residency or citizenship requirements on forming or owning a Wyoming LLC. Any individual worldwide can form and own one. You are responsible for complying with your own country's tax and reporting obligations.
How long does the full setup take? +
5 to 6 weeks total. The Wyoming LLC forms within the first week. The IRS EIN takes 30 to 37 days — this is the only bottleneck. Stripe, the bank account, and card are activated within days of the EIN arriving.
What are the ongoing costs after IOPay delivers? +
IOPay charges a one-time setup fee only. After delivery, you are responsible for: Wyoming Annual Report (~$62/year) and Registered Agent renewal (~$125/year). These are paid directly by you to the relevant parties. IOPay has no ongoing role after delivery.
Will Stripe work on my existing Shopify store? +
Yes. Once your US Stripe account is created, it is installed as a third-party payment gateway on your existing Shopify store. Your store does not need to move or change. Stripe is added alongside whatever payment method you currently use.
